Winter garden

This is not the most colourful or vibrant time of year in Scottish gardens, but armed with my camera I went out yesterday afternoon to see what I could find. I was pleasantly surprised by the small scale beauty of little plants thriving in quiet corners, even dead leaves providing interesting shapes and textures.

Thank you, Jo. I wasn’t expecting to find much of interest. At first glance the garden looked fairly lifeless and drab but small details can be surprising.

Thank you, Hilary. It’s true, there’s a lot more around than there seems to be at first glance. I suppose winter gives us a way of appreciating the less obvious pleasures of a garden.
